UPA holds an outstanding performance record for meter installation projects. We ensure the highest quality in everything we do by providing open communication between our partner utilities, our field personnel and corporate offices. UPA’s focus is on excellence, customer satisfaction and superior quality performance; therefore, our policy to our staff is simple: "When in doubt, seek us out." This policy equips our personnel with an open communication line to our specialized staff experts for immediate and direct response to any issue.

We strive for excellence in our people and our services; therefore, all of our personnel undergo strict screening including:

• Background checks
• Drug screening
• Driving record (5 year check)
• Safety compliance testing
• References and work history

 UPA Training Program

To emphasize our safety and quality assurance, UPA has developed a formal training program that encompasses personal safety, proper equipment operation, and good driving skills. In addition to work order and field installation training, training is provided on customer service, meter reading, revenue protection, product, work order systems and basic metering. All technicians receive classroom and one-on-one onsite training with a seasoned UPA technician. All production is validated by our specialized quality control technicians exceeding limits set within the contract specifications. Project managers and supervisors monitor every technician’s daily production for error rates, keying errors, time lapses and overall quality. Our program ensures all employees are being trained by our experts with the latest technology and with the proper OSHA safety regulations - regardless of the type of meter installation. We formalize this program by issuing Certificates of Completion for each training module completed. We also include training modules from our partners to elaborate on critical education such as hot sockets and other safety hazard situations.

Quality Assurance

Due to UPA’s high standards for its production team, a stringent quality assurance program has been established. UPA has specialized quality assurance technicians assigned to every project. All projects begin with 100 percent verification of every installer’s work for the first weeks of production. Error rates are tracked electronically; if a technician’s error rate falls below the standard, the technician is retrained for an additional period. UPA provides consistent and strict quality verification for the remainder of the project using retraining and corrective actions as appropriate. These standards have earned UPA an outstanding quality performance record.
